Project Participation - fyi

We wanted to go ahead and post this information on the blog since we've been receiving a number of new inquiries about project participation...

Step One: The online interview
We created a preliminary interview questionare as a way to get to know the women a little bit before actually meeting in person. Once your participation is confirmed, you'll be emailed a link to the survey. After you have that completed; Heather and I will email you copy of our answers to the online interview questions. We think it helps to have a basic level of familiarity with each other before we do finally meet in person!

Step Two: In-person interview and photo shoot

Once you've completed the online interview, we'll work on meeting face-to-face. Unfortunately, we are somewhat limited on the available poject hours we have each week. We try schedule 2-3 shoots in Dallas every other week and make one out of town trip (currently, either Austin or Houston) per month (usually a weekend or extended weekend).

Step Three: Follow-up

We might follow-up with some of you (as we can) throughout the duration of the project (12-16 months) for additional photos, interview time, etc.

Release Form
If you are chosen to participate in the photo essay, we'll ask you to sign a basic release form giving us permission to use the content of your interview and the photos from your photo shoot for the project and for promotion associated with the project.

Compensation
In return for your time and input, we will be presenting each participant an original print of their choice from their photo shoot. As a participant you will also have the option of purchasing additional *discounted* prints-- but that is entirely optional and not required at all to participate.

Each participant will also be invited as a special guest to attend any (or all) of the gallery and/or book openings that occur once the project has been completed.

If you're interested in being considered, please contact us directly via email (see links on the right).

Hope this answers some questions! Please let me know if I can clarify anything else.
